Looking for a skillful quality adhesive to repair footwear. Soles seperating and if repaired could get several years of use out of footwear.
Any suggestions/recommendations appreciated.

Re: Shoe Adhesive
I tried construction adhesive on a pair of work boots once. I let it dry out for a mean solar day simply the sole seperated again well-nigh immediately later on I put the boot on.

Pliobond is a commercial grade contact cement. Information technology remains flexible, is waterproof, and makes a stiff bond. In that location are a number of suppliers. Google "pliobond" to find vendors. Exist sure to follow the directions for best results.

Superglue is super at gluing fingers together and not much else.
Anything for which superglue might exist used for, I apply epoxy instead.
True contact cement is what was used to agree down formica countertops for years.
Information technology is harder to work with. You should be in a ventilated space, cover each surface with
a sparse coat, and so let dry. Once dry out, contact cement only sticks to contact cement. Then
you press the two surfaces together tightly. Go it exactly right. Once the surfaces impact,
you aren't getting them back apart without damaging them. A common mistake is getting
to sides of a counter attached while the center is notwithstanding higher up the surface. If that happens
y'all have a permanent "hump" in the countertop, which makes it useless.
Here is what a can of contact cement looks like:

About 2:thirty into the post-obit video, this youtube video shows the use of contact cement for a countertop

Agreed. I recall everyone else is trying to make this too hard. Shoo Goo works great and final a long time. Comes in different colors too.

Re: Shoe Adhesive
My Shoe Goo was purchased at WalMart. At the WM website, y'all can usually search for a item number, then search for a WM store that carries information technology.
It is just silicone that dries to a certain consistentcy. You could dilute some 100% silicone caulking with some solvent (mineral spirits?) to make your own glue. Safe cement is another form of slicone gum, but less viscid when stale.
The solvent in Shoe Goo smells like information technology might be slightly flammable so it may be expensive to send. That is why it might not be cheap if information technology is sold by mail order.

Re: Shoe Adhesive
OK, now I have to ask: Anyone know how to pull soles off shoes without destroying them (the soles)?
I use jazz sneakers with leather soles. They don't come with leather soles, and the cost is now $thirty a pair to put them on. The shoes need replacing long before the soles wearable out and so re-using seems feasible. If I tin piece of work out how to do it myself with Shoe Goo and a couple of clamps - hey, that'due south enough to be worth trying.

Next time I'm at Walmart or Lowe'due south will take to buy a lagre tube of Silicone in the paint/hardware dept. If that works it will be worth the coin and beat a shoe repair store.
